A Federal Judge in San Francisco granted final approval of a class action settlement in a lawsuit against Uber Technologies, Inc. (“Uber”).

On April 4, 2016, a Federal Judge in Chicago preliminarily approved a settlement of a class action brought on behalf of a group of former male inmates who were found not guilty or otherwise acquitted of the charges brought against them. 

In late December of 2016, the City of Chicago began issuing “review” notices to motorists previously accused of speed and red light camera violations which purport to allow them another opportunity to contest violations that allegedly occurred years ago. 

A Federal Judge in San Francisco ruled that a lawsuit against Uber can proceed as a class action over allegations that the ride service misled its customers about how it shares gratuities with drivers. The suit was brought by Attorney Jacie Zolna on behalf of thousands of Uber customers.

On March 23, 2015, Jacie C. Zolna filed a class action lawsuit against the City of Chicago seeking recoupment of all fines and penalties paid for alleged speed and red light camera violations, as well as an injunction preventing the City from collecting on or otherwise enforcing outstanding alleged speed and red light camera violations. 

A lawsuit was filed against the City of Chicago seeking a refund of fines paid by motorists who were issued automated speed camera violations in school safety zones on non-school days, including during this past summer break.
